  • What the difference between investment advice and financial planning?
Making the right investment choices are an important part of the overall financial picture. However, it is only one part of the whole equation that is your financial plan. Financial planning is the comprehensive process that not only covers investment advice but all the other aspects of your overall financial life as well – retirement, employer benefits, taxes, credit, paying off debt, risk analysis to name a few.
  • What is a fiduciary?
A fiduciary is the financial industry's highest ethical obligation between advisor and client. As a fiduciary, we have a legal and ethical responsibility to always act in your best interest. We do not use our clients’ assets for our own benefit or the benefit of other clients.
  • What is a CFP®?
Certified Financial Planner (CFP) is a formal recognition of expertise in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and retirement. Owned and awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., the designation is awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board's initial exams, then continue ongoing annual education programs to sustain their skills and certification.
  • Who can benefit most from Know Your Worth Financial's services?
Our services are most beneficial for young and mid-career minority professionals or families who are smart and driven to improve their financial life. As life becomes more demanding and complex, our clients may not have the time, effort, or ability to manage their own financial plan effectively. Delegating this aspect of their life to a trusted financial professional gives them the ability to focus their time on family or the pursuits that matter most to them.
  • Who is not a good fit for Know Your Worth Financial?
Our services would not be a good fit for those looking to beat or time the market, find the next Apple or Amazon stock, or any other fast money schemes. We believe in a comprehensive approach to decision making that factors in all the areas of your financial plan.
  • Why should I hire you instead of doing this myself?
Like many other skills and vocations, the principles and strategies of financial planning are available publicly. However, the road to proficiency requires sorting through a near infinite amount of information to filter out only knowledge that's applicable and potentially a lot of trial and error to test that knowledge. Most are probably comfortable with installing a ceiling fan, first aid on a small cut, or adding a power of attorney to an account but most likely wouldn't attempt the more sophisticated tasks of an electrician, doctor, or lawyer understanding the potentially high costs of making a mistake.
  • How do you get paid?
We are fee-only financial planning firm. This means our compensation only comes from the services we provide to you. That means no commissions, trails, or other hidden fees. We believe this fee-only is the compensation structure that bests aligns our interests with our clients.
  • Can you work with clients outside of Arizona?
Absolutely! We're currently located and registered in the state of Arizona but can work with clients anywhere in the US.
  • Do I need to have a bunch of money to work with you?
Not at all. Know Your Worth Financial was built as a response to the traditional advising model built around the foundation of charging based on investable assets. We're excited to be able to offer an affordable fee-only model accessible to people at any stage of their financial life. No need to wait till you get out of debt or your next big promotion. We have a flexible pricing structure to fit into almost any budget.
  • Do I need to pay for the first meeting?
Nope! We believe everyone should have the opportunity to speak to an experienced independent financial advisor. All we ask is that you bring your questions and find a comfortable spot during our meeting. If we aren't a good fit to work together, we'll make sure to point you in the right direction to get the services that works best for you.
  • What should I do if I can't afford to hire you, but really need you?"
Go ahead and schedule a meeting anyways! We'll make sure you come away with some good resources and hopefully come out of the conversation with a little more knowledge than you came in with.
  • I’d like to learn more, what is the next step?"
